Seaview Holiday News

Seaview Holidays Blog

Our First Blog Post!

As this is our first blog. We thought we ought to base this entry around the history of Salterns Village and Seaview Holidays.

Salterns Village has been operational since the early 60's, Along with it's sister sites, Pondwell, Tollgate and Salterns Beach. Now only the Salterns Village remains under Seaview Holidays as all the other sites have morphed into new projects.

Most recently rumour has it the oldest holiday site of all four, Pondwell is going to become a Gin distellery and a vineyard. (Again this is a rumour but it is still exciting Stuff!)

Salterns Village has always been a holiday development and was formally made up of; (before the renovation.) 52 properties until the refurbishment where the development changed to 41 properties.

Can anyone remember the stained glass dividers between the properties?

All the way up to 2014,  Salterns Village served as a very basic holiday home. Guests throughout the years remind us of the pay per use electric meters and faulty laundrette(now developed into our Cafe Blue!).

Nevertheless our guests who have stayed here for generations and still come back to us year after year say you still couldn't beat an Isle of Wight holiday!

Salterns Village has now had a modern day makeover, but still retains the family friendly holiday village vibe which is loved by so many.

We hope you have enjoyed our first blog post, pop back again soon to see what we are up to.

We are very active on our Facebook and Twitter page, Where you can follow us under Seaview Holidays!

Whats On

With such a broad range of exciting events and festivals taking place on the Isle of Wight each year, it's little wonder it is nicknamed the "Festival Island"!

We play host to some of the biggest global music festivals including the famous Isle of Wight Festival and the all new Elecktika at Robin Hill, as well as some of the world's largest sporting events with Cowes Week and the Walking Festival.

Plus it's not all about the one-off events - there is plenty of regular entertainment taking place in the form of live music, shows, exhibitions and much more.

In amongst the peace and tranquility of the quiet Island there is a lively music scene with music venues all over the Island and some wonderful pubs and restaurants and theatres providing a good evenings entertainment.

Our Favourite Walk

Here at Seaview Holidays we love nothing better than making the most of the Islands fantastic walks.

Our current favourite is on our doorstep, its the Barnsley Trail.......

A good stomp of about 3.5 miles, with no stiles to negotiate its a good walk for most abilities, it can be a little muddy though (our spaniel is proof of that)

If you enjoy walking, the island will leave you spoilt for choice, you can spend your days exploring the stunning coastal paths and the beautiful rural areas, of course returning to one of our luxury 4 star cottages for a cocoa or a glass of wine at the end of the day.

Give us a call to book your next walking holiday
